SUMMARY:ReproducibiliTea - Replication research
DESCRIPTION:During ReproducibiliTea meetings we examine topics related to r
 eproducibility\, open science\, research quality\, and good/bad research p
ractices. ReproducibiliTea started in 2018 at the University of Oxford\, a
nd has now spread to 140 institutions in 27 different countries. There cur
rently are ReproducibiliTea journal club meetings organized at 7 different
universities in the Netherlands. For more information please check: https
://reproducibilitea.org/. The Maastricht University ReproducibiliTea journ
al club is organized in collaboration with the Open Science Community Maas
tricht (OSCM)\, for more information and other events\, please check the e
vents page.\n\nJoin our next Maastricht ReproducibiliTea (zoom) meeting on
Thursday 30th of June from 11.00-12.00!\n\nDuring ReproducibiliTea meetin
gs we examine topics related to reproducibility\, open science\, and resea
rch quality. For this meeting we will discuss the use of replication resea
rch for student projects. Replication research has become increasingly mai
nstream over the last decade\, with many journals now accepting (direct) r
eplications of previous research. Still\, students are often required to p
erform original research for their thesis\, specifically excluding replica
tion research. Is this desirable\, or can replication research be a rich l
earning experience for students?\n\nDr Ewout Meijer will introduce this to
pic and the discussion. We would like to hear your ideas about this\, what
is currently done at UM\, what and how could it change\, and what do you
think is needed to ensure the student learning experience.\n\nWe will disc
uss the article ‘Publishing Research With Undergraduate Students via Rep
lication Work: The Collaborative Replications and Education Project’. Wh
ich can be found in the following link: https://doi.org/10.3389/fpsyg.2019

 .05 – Short presentation to summarize the article\n- 11.20 – Discussio
n\n- 11.50 – Closing statement\n\nYou can register on the right. Partici
pation is free\, but please register so we can send you the Zoom link and
keep you up to date on future events.
